Energy performance of buildings processing
Energy performance of buildings processing is given by the Act No. 406/2000 Coll. Energy Management, as amended and its implementing Decree No. 148/2007 Coll. Energy Performance of Buildings. These regulations implement into Czech law Directive 2002/91/EC on the Energy Performance of Buildings (EPBD), which is the actual document in the EU uniformly regulating the way of assessing efficiency of energy use in buildings for housing and public sector. Energy performance certificate is the result of calculation the energy performance of building, which includes calculations of annual energy needs for heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water and lighting in the use of standardized building.
It must be prepared for all new buildings and for energy-related renovation of buildings with floor area over 1000 m2, such as when insulation or replacing windows from 1st of January 2009.
Certificate of energy performance of buildings is protocol which demonstrates the energy performance of buildings with calculation details and graphical representation of the energy performance of buildings expressing including in the class of energy performance.
Overview of energy performance classes:
- A – very efficient
- B – saving
- C – compliant
- D – unsatisfactory
- E – wasteful
- F – very inefficient
- G – extremely inefficient
Obligation to prepare energy consumption
Energy Performance Certificate – energy certificate is required from building owner, builder or owners to prove in demonstrating compliance with the general technical requirements for construction.
Energy audits
Energy Audit is a set of activities which result are information on the manner and level of energy use in buildings and energy management.
The content of an energy audit, inter alia, are the following basic information:
- assessment of current levels of energy management and building
- determining the total amount of energy savings achievable
- design measures to be implemented to achieve savings
- assessment of proposed measures in terms of economic efficiency
- the impact of proposed measures on the environment
The audit must be prepared in accordance and within the requirements of the law No. 406/2000 Coll. Energy Management, as amended, and Decree No. 213/2001 Coll., which issued the details and particulars of the energy audit, amended by Decree No 425/2004 Coll.
Energy audit is an essential annex every request for a subsidy in the energy sector, both within the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation, and within the Operational Programme Environment.
