Strategic environmental Impact assessment (SEA)
SEA (Strategic Environmental Assessment) is an important tool in environmental protection.
It deals with assessment of strategic documents (i.e. investment plans, programs, policies and concepts, including Land-use plans) designated as a long-term projects.
The aim of this process is to obtain comprehensive information of possible environmental impact from strategic planning.
Formal and factual way of Strategic Environmental Assessment is described in the Act No. 100/2001 Coll., On Environmental Impact Assessment, or in the Construction Act.
Land-use planning documentation impact assessment on the environment and sustainable development
The Land-use planning documentation is subject to SEA. The scope and content of the documentation for assessment is governed by the Construction Act and its implementing regulations.
If a need for an environmental assessment arises from the Land-use planning documentation application draft, the customer is obliged to carry out a Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment.
If this is the case, then Land-use planning documentation also includes Sustainability Impact Assessment, addressing also other pillars of sustainable development, which we assess together with SEA.
